Hosted by Francesca Eyre, these pottery retreats and lessons blend creativity and relaxation. In Provence, mornings unfold in a bright studio surrounded by vineyards and the Luberon hills. In Morzine, guests can enjoy hands-on pottery sessions amid alpine views - perfect after a day on the slopes or trails.
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced potter, Francesca offers a warm welcome, time to relax and a chance to share in her passion.

Francesca (trained chef and pottery enthusiast) hosts immersive retreats at Maison Lou Roucas, her beautifully restored village home in Provence - blending pottery, cuisine, and culture.
Studio time: Pottery workshops in Francesca’s on-site studio. Hand-building and wheel work, with glazing and firing included. New this year is RAKU firing
Raku & Obvara firing: Experience two exciting alternative firing techniques during the retreat. Raku creates dramatic crackles, metallic lustres, and beautifully unpredictable surface effects, while Obvara, an ancient Eastern European firing method, produces organic patterns and rich earthy finishes. Both approaches celebrate spontaneity and ensure that every piece is completely unique.
Local immersion: Market trips, vineyard and lavender field walks, and guided cooking lessons reveal the region’s flavours.
Hospitality: Stay at Maison Lou Roucas, with cosy rooms and meals shared in the garden or under the vines.

Maison Lou Roucas is a lovingly restored 200-year-old village house in Cabrières-d’Aigues, Provence. Nestled among vineyards and olive groves, it’s home to Francesca Eyre’s pottery retreats. With cosy rooms, a shaded courtyard, a plunge pool, and rooftop views of the Luberon, it’s a tranquil, character-filled setting to relax, create, and connect.

This five-night retreat offers the chance to develop your skills in the studio, experiment with exciting firing techniques and discover the spectacular surroundings of Morzine.
Develop your pottery skills: From your first experience on the wheel to creating taller forms, trimming and experimenting with different clays, studio sessions are adapted to your ability. Francesca provides individual guidance throughout, helping you explore new techniques and bring your ideas to life.
Raku & Obvara: Get hands-on with these fascinating alternative firing techniques. You'll create pieces specifically for firing before witnessing the transformation as red-hot pottery meets the elements. Expect distinctive patterns, dramatic crackles and wonderfully unpredictable results, with the opportunity to add gold detailing for an extra-special finish. Your fired creations are yours to take home.
Make the most of the mountains: Step away from the clay to explore Morzine and its stunning Alpine landscape. From riverside walks and a visit to beautiful Lake Montriond to mountain adventures and adrenaline-filled activities, there's plenty to enjoy between studio sessions.
